| About Us |
IntroductionHello, and welcome to the website of Pallies, the most awesome World of Warcraft guild of all time. Or, at the very least, one of the most accomplished 10-man progression guilds on Skullcrusher-US. Whichever.
You are undoubtedly here because you wish to learn more about our 10-man operation (either that, or you've gotten hopelessly lost in the vast and winding tubes of the internet). Regardless, we urge you to take a look around, learn all about us, and start being our secret admirers.
Our RootsIf you've ever noticed us roaming around Skullcrusher and thought to yourself, "I've never heard of Pallies, but some of these losers look vaguely familiar," then you aren't alone. Since our formation just prior to WotLK's release, we have received many private messages respectfully inquiring, "LOL WHO IS PALLIES?" While the guild itself is relatively new, its members are actually among some of the server's oldest players. An assortment of former members and officers from Skullcrusher's illustrious Beatdown Brigade, we raided with them throughout Classic WoW and much of Burning Crusade as well. As the years went by and our lives became busier, we found it increasingly difficult to keep up with the demands of serious 25-man raiding. In an effort to take a more relaxed approach to raiding in the expansion, we split from our friends in Beatdown Brigade and formed Pallies.
What We DoPallies is oriented around 10-man raid content. Our goal is not only to see this content, but to experience it at the highest level possible (ie hard/"heroic" modes). This might seem laughable to guilds that do 25-man content regularly, but we have found that many 10-man achievements are suprisingly difficult and unforgiving compared to their 25-man counterparts. (Twilight Zone, anyone?) When you take into consideration our limited pool of raiders and the fact that we insist on getting every raid achievement for every member (310 Proto-Drakes for all!), we have plenty to keep us occupied.
People have often asked why we don't just expand and become a 25-man guild, being that we're just so bitchingly awesome and all. Well, there are a number of reasons for this. The main reason is that we are cripplingly anti-social and hate everyone. (I'll leave it to you to determine to what extent that's an exaggeration.) The second reason is that, frankly, we don't see much of a reason to do 25-man content. We raid because we enjoy experiencing challenging encounters with our friends. The only real draw of 25-man content is better loot, which we're not overly concerned with (frankly, the challenge of beating 10-man hard mode achievements without the luxury of 25-man loot saturation makes us more badass anyway). To us, it's simply not worth the headaches and drama inherent in running a larger guild. We've been there. We've done that. All we want to do now is relax, have fun, and kick ass with our pals, and that's exactly what we're doing! |
